Commissionerate system restored in Sindh: sources Updated at: 2320 PST, Friday, November 04, 2011

KARACHI: Commissionerate System has come back into effect in Sindh as Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were unable to reach consensus over Local Government System, Geo News reported Friday.

A notification to this effect is due anytime soon.

According to details an ordinance promulgated by Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad will stand null & void by midnight (November 4, 2011) restoring Karachi’s all five districts along with their administration.

Sources say DCO Roshan Ali Shaikh would take the office of commissioner in Karachi, DCO Ahmed Buksh Norejo Hyderabad, DCO Aleem Lashari Larkana, DCO Inamullah Dharejo Sukkur, DCO Ghulam Hussain Memon Mirpur Khas, and DCO Mohammad Hussain is slated to be Administrator Karachi Municipal Committee (KMC).

So far a notification has not been issued but is expected to be made public late night, sources added.
